Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policy
Last updated: August 28, 2026
This policy explains how money moves on MyPgHub, and what can and cannot be cancelled or refunded. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. What MyPgHub Is
MyPgHub is a technology platform that connects tenants with PG (paying guest) accommodation owners. We provide software: listings, bookings, rent records, complaints, and payment tools that PG owners use to run their properties.
We are nota landlord, a broker, or a party to any tenancy agreement. The accommodation, its condition, its house rules, its rent and its deposit terms are entirely the PG owner's. Any agreement about staying at a property is between the tenant and that PG owner.
2. The Two Kinds of Payment
Everything on this page follows from one distinction, so it is worth being precise about it.
- Rent and other charges paid to a PG owner. Rent, advances, security deposits, food charges and any other charge a property levies. This money is owed to the PG owner and is received by the PG owner. Where online rent payment is available, the transaction settles directly into the PG owner's own payment gateway account— it does not pass through MyPgHub at any point. Where it is not available, the tenant pays the owner in cash or by the owner's own UPI, and the owner records it. MyPgHub takes no commission on rent.
- Subscription plans paid to MyPgHub. PG owners may buy a paid plan to use our software. This is the only money MyPgHub charges anyone, and the only payment where MyPgHub is the merchant. Tenants are never charged a platform fee, a booking fee, or a commission of any kind.
3. Rent: Cancellation and Refunds
MyPgHub does not hold your rent and cannot refund it. Because online rent settles directly to the PG owner, the money is never in our possession, so there is nothing for us to return.
Booking, notice, cancellation, refund and deposit terms are set by each PG owner and are shown to you at the time of booking. They vary from property to property. A request to cancel a stay, to be refunded an advance, or to have a security deposit returned must be raised with the PG owner directly.
Where a dispute arises, we will assist in mediation between the tenant and the PG owner, and we can provide the transaction record we hold for any payment made through the platform. We cannot compel an outcome and we do not decide the dispute.
4. Money Debited but Not Showing as Paid
When a tenant pays rent online, we confirm the transaction with the payment gateway server-to-server before crediting it against the invoice, and the gateway notifies us separately as a second check. A payment is credited once and only once, so a page refresh or a duplicate notification cannot double-count it.
If your bank shows an amount debited but the payment has not appeared:
- Wait for your bank first. A transaction that did not complete is normally reversed automatically, usually within 5 to 7 working days.
- Do not pay a second time for the same invoice until the first one is resolved.
- If it has not reversed after that, email support@mypghub.com with the transaction reference, the date and the amount, and we will trace it with the gateway. Where the money reached the PG owner, any return of it is the PG owner's to make.
5. Subscription Plans: Cancellation and Refunds
This section applies only to PG owners who buy a paid plan from MyPgHub. Prices are shown on our pricing page.
- There is no auto-renewal. A plan is a one-time purchase for a fixed term. We do not store a mandate against your card or bank account and you will never be charged again without buying another term yourself. There is therefore no recurring payment to cancel.
- A paid term is not refundable once it has started. Access begins immediately on payment, so the service has been provided from that moment. Please use the free plan to evaluate MyPgHub before purchasing.
- Stopping is simply not renewing. When a term ends you keep full access for a further 7 days. After that the account moves to our free plan. Your properties, tenants, payment records and history remain intact — nothing is deleted for non-payment.
- The exceptions we do refund. If you were charged more than once for the same term, or money was taken and the plan never activated, we refund it in full to the original payment method. Write to support with the transaction reference; approved refunds are initiated within 5 working days, and how long the amount then takes to appear is set by your bank.
6. Raising a Payment Issue
Email support@mypghub.com or use our contact page. Include the transaction reference, the date, the amount, and the property concerned. It helps us a great deal if you say which of the two payment kinds above it was.
7. Payment Security
Payments are processed by PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways. Card numbers, UPI credentials, net-banking passwords and bank account details are entered on the gateway's own secure page and are never seen or stored by MyPgHub. We keep only the transaction reference, the amount, and whether it succeeded.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and the version published here is the one that applies.
Payments – FAQ
Does My PG Hub hold my rent money?
No. Rent paid online settles directly into the PG owner’s own payment gateway account. My PG Hub never receives, holds, or takes a commission from your rent, and therefore cannot refund it. Refund requests for rent must be raised with the PG owner.
Can I cancel a subscription plan and get a refund?
Plans are one-time purchases for a fixed term with no auto-renewal, so there is nothing to cancel and you are never charged again automatically. Once a paid term has started it is not refundable. When the term ends your account moves to the free plan and your data stays intact.
Money left my account but the payment shows as pending. What now?
Confirm with your bank first — a transaction that did not complete is normally reversed by the bank within 5 to 7 working days without anyone doing anything. If it has not reversed and the payment is still not showing, email support@mypghub.com with the transaction reference, date and amount.
